Tertiary education in Ghana has over the years become very costly making it difficult for people without financially stable sponsors to continue. In the list below, I would be outlining several scholarship one can apply for in order to reduce or cover all tuition fees.
University of Ghana (U.G)Scholarships:
The University of Ghana offers scholarships several scholarships ranging from full scholarship, partial scholarship, fee arrangements and, on-campus work-study or part-time job opportunities for students. However, there are requirements for qualification before applying fro them.
According to the University of Ghana official website, any interested applicant must possesses the following qualities;
- Be a Ghanaian citizen.
- Be enrolled as a regular student in full time programme of study.
- Be able to demonstrate financial need.
- Be brilliant.
- Be making excellent academic progress as determined by the University.

Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (K.N.U.S.T):
The university currently has one scholarship available for all students of KNUST but only the brilliant but needy students would be selected. The scholarship is available for both fresh applicants and fro those renewing. There are two deadlines for the scholarship. They are;
30th of June 2015 for first time applicants and renewal of existing scholarship awards.
31 th August, 2015 for freshers.

Ashesi University:
Ashesi University has over the years turned out to be one of the best private university to study in. With a $13 million partnership with The MasterCard Foundation in Canada, the University awards several scholarships to qualified students in the form of financial assistance. These scholarships cover either full or partial assistance to take up the costs of tuition fees (which can cost up to GHSs12,226 for nationals and $3,396 for foreigners), text books, housing, and meals.

University for Development Studies:
At the time of publication of this article, we couldn’t find any valuable scholarship scheme for the University for Development Studies. We would keep searching for scholarships so please keep in touch with us.
